About Morgan, Minnesota
Morgan is a small farming community in Redwood County in southwestern Minnesota. The town is named for Lewis Henry Morgan (1818–1881), the American anthropologist and explorer often called "the Father of American Anthropology," who traveled through Minnesota in 1861–62. Like much of the surrounding region, Morgan was settled by German Catholic farm families, and St. Michael's has served as the spiritual center of that community for more than 130 years.
