History of the Kewaskum Catholic Parishes
Catholic life in Kewaskum began with Holy Trinity Parish, which was established in 1862 (formally recognized as an independent parish in 1861) and dedicated by Bishop Henni in 1863. It was first a mission of Immaculate Conception in Barton and its first resident pastor was Rev. John Mueller. As Catholic farm families settled the surrounding countryside, St. Michael's was established east of the village to serve that population. By 1962, St. Michael's was already a distinct parish led by its own pastor, Fr. Matthew J. Urban, as noted in the local press. Today, the two parishes share clergy and staff but retain their individual identities and worship sites.

Love One Another Capital Campaign & Sanctuary Renovation
The 'Love One Another' Capital Campaign was launched in 2022 by Holy Trinity and St. Michael's Parishes. The sanctuary renovation at St. Michael's — the final project of the campaign — began January 5, 2026, with a goal completion date of March 31, 2026. The design aims 'to enhance our sacred space, foster deeper reverence for the Eucharist, and increase devotion to the angels and saints.' During the work the parish's 9:00 AM Sunday Mass moves to Holy Trinity at 9:15 AM, the Blessed Sacrament is relocated off-campus, and the church is closed to public prayer. Lenten Stations of the Cross during the renovation will be offered at St. John of God Chapel on Mondays at 6:30 PM. Confirmation classes will meet after the 9:15 AM Mass at Holy Trinity School, and 9th–10th grade Faith Formation will move from St. Michael's to Holy Trinity (a change intended to continue after the renovation).
