Parish History

Founded in 1813 and served by its original brick chapel from 1817 until the 1960s, St. Mary's is one of the oldest parishes in Montgomery County. The Gothic Revival chapel was saved from demolition in the 1960s, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, rededicated as the Chapel of Our Lady, and remains in active liturgical use. The parish celebrated its bicentennial in 2013.
