About St. Mary · Marshalltown, Iowa

St. Mary Catholic Church in Marshalltown, Iowa, is one of the worship sites of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, a Catholic community belonging to the Archdiocese of Dubuque. Originally established as an independent parish named for the Blessed Virgin Mary, it has since been united with nearby St. Henry parish under the single St. Francis of Assisi banner, sharing clergy, ministries, and an attached Catholic school with the Marshalltown area. Today the St. Mary site (11 West Linn Street) hosts a daily 7:30 AM weekday Mass in English, a Tuesday evening confession hour, weekday Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and the Sunday 5:00 PM bilingual Mass that closes out the weekend. The parish offers Mass in English, Spanish, and bilingual formats across its sites, serves a growing Hispanic community, and partners with St. Francis Catholic School (PreK-Grade 5) on the parish campus.

Why belong here

St. Francis of Assisi Parish is one of the few parishes in central Iowa offering Mass in English, Spanish, and bilingual formats every weekend, and the St. Mary site is the spiritual home of the daily 7:30 AM Mass, weekday adoration, and the Sunday bilingual 5:00 PM liturgy. Registration is simple, takes under ten minutes, and connects members to parish mailings, sacramental preparation (including RCIA for adults), the attached St. Francis Catholic School, and a multi-site Catholic community that welcomes both longtime Marshalltown families and newer Hispanic parishioners.
