St. Mary Magdalene Church (formerly part of the Catholic Community of the Blessed Trinity, or 'CCBT') is a Catholic worship site located at 15 Northrup Avenue in the heart of Wolcott, New York. As one of three worship sites of the Catholic Community of the Blessed Trinity — together with St. Thomas in Red Creek and St. Jude in Fair Haven — it is now grouped with neighboring parishes in the Catholic Parishes of Eastern Wayne County under St. Joseph the Worker Parish. About St. Mary Magdalene
St. Mary Magdalene Church is one of three worship sites of the Catholic Community of the Blessed Trinity (CCBT), the others being St. Thomas in Red Creek and St. Jude in Fair Haven. Today the cluster is unified under the Catholic Parishes of Eastern Wayne County (cpewc.org), which also includes St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Clyde and St. Michael's in Newark. History of the Parish
St. Mary Magdalene was organized in 1940 when the present church was built at the corner of Washington and Northrup Streets in Wolcott. According to the Catholic Courier and the Wayne County Historians, it was established to relieve St. Thomas the Apostle in Red Creek, which suffered from summertime overcrowding in this lakeside Finger Lakes region. The Wolcott mission was raised to a parish in its own right in 1954 and was enlarged in 1965 (and again in 1989). In 2006 it joined with St. Thomas and St. Jude Chapel (Fair Haven) to form the Catholic Community of the Blessed Trinity; the three had been collaborating as a cluster since 1985. Most recently, the Blessed Trinity community has been merged into the broader Catholic Parishes of Eastern Wayne County.

Sacramental Preparation
The Catholic Parishes of Eastern Wayne County website walks families through Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation preparation for both the Blessed Trinity cluster and the St. Joseph the Worker cluster. Baptism for infants and children under 7 is celebrated regularly (except during Lent) and requires parents to attend a pre-Baptismal preparation meeting. Older children and adults are prepared through OCIA (the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults, formerly RCIA). Confirmation is typically received in eighth grade, with preparation that includes catechetical sessions, service projects, a retreat, and a sponsor.
