History of the Parish
Catholic sacramental records for St. Maries date back to 1913, the same year the town was officially founded at the confluence of the St. Maries and St. Joe rivers. The Diocese of Boise preserved these records, which the FamilySearch Library has microfilmed for genealogical research. In 1963 the parish hosted a notable ordination: Bishop Sylvester W. Treinen ordained William Weigand to the priesthood at St. Mary Immaculate Church — Weigand would go on to become a bishop and serve as head of two American dioceses.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help is a mission church of St. Mary Immaculate located on Pine Street in Harrison, a small community on the shores of Lake Coeur d'Alene. The mission brings the sacraments to lake-country Catholics who would otherwise have to travel to St. Maries for Mass.
