History of the Euclid Mission
Catholic missionary visits to the families scattered east of Warren — in what would become the Euclid area — began around 1880, when a priest from Crookston would pass through once or twice a year. For decades the small Catholic population of Euclid and nearby Radium received Mass only on those rare visits until a resident parish was finally organized at Warren and incorporated on December 10, 1914. On October 10, 1915 Bishop Timothy Corbett of Crookston dedicated the new Warren church and installed Rev. John P. Funk as its first resident pastor, formally entrusting him with the care of Euclid and Oslo as missions. That arrangement has continued for more than a century.
