History of St. Martin Parish
St. Martin Church was established in 1933 in Lecompte, Louisiana, as a Catholic parish under the Diocese of Alexandria. The parish came to serve not only Lecompte but the wider rural area of central Louisiana, including Catholic families in nearby Woodworth whose earlier local church life had been disrupted in the late 1920s. In 1996 the parish expanded its ministry by taking on pastoral responsibility for the new Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission in Forest Hill.

Faith Formation (Catechism)
Religious education for the parish's young people is offered through weekly Catechism classes on Wednesday evenings. This is the main vehicle for sacramental preparation and ongoing faith formation for children in the parish.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission, Forest Hill
St. Martin is the parent parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission in Forest Hill, Louisiana, established in 1996 to serve the local Hispanic community — many of whom came to the area to work in the plant nurseries. The mission offers bilingual liturgy with a Spanish-language Mass schedule, weekday evening Masses, confession and adoration in the evenings, First Friday devotions, and parish life events including quinceañeras, weddings, first communions, and confirmations. Fr. Marc Noel has served the mission since 2021.
