History

Saint Mark's Catholic Church was established as part of the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown, which was founded in 1901. The parish shares a long history with Holy Rosary Church, which was organized in 1901 and initially met in a temporary structure before moving to its current location. The two churches have collaborated on projects, including the restoration of Saint Mark’s historic bell, which was cast in 1850 and reinstalled in 2006. The parish has also been involved in community service, education, and spiritual formation for over a century.
