St. Marianne Cope Parish is the merged Roman Catholic parish formed from Saint Cecilia (Solvay) and Our Lady of Peace (Lakeland), serving the Catholic communities of Solvay, Lakeland and greater Syracuse for over a century. Its mission statement reads: 'Our parish community is committed to living the Great Commission, desiring to make disciples and share in the sacramental life of Christ's Church.' The parish envisions itself as four things at once — a sacred place where the human and divine meet, a place of spiritual nourishment, a spiritual home where parishioners share one another's joys and sorrows, and a social place where people make new friends and reach out to those in need.

Our Lady of Peace — History of the Lakeland Church
The seeds of Our Lady of Peace were planted between 1909 and 1935 as Catholic families settled in the Lakeland area of Syracuse. A chapel on Stasko Drive was established in 1935 as a mission of St. Cecilia's, was incorporated as a standalone parish on June 10, 1949, and was rebuilt twice — once after a 1951 fire and again, completely, after a devastating fire on February 14, 1964 destroyed the building. The current brick church and rectory on Halcomb Street were dedicated on November 14, 1965, and the interior was finally completed for Christmas 1997.

- Feb. 23, 1951 — damaging fire; parish men and Holy Name Society restore the church

Mass & Livestream
Weekend Masses are offered at both worship sites: Saturday at 4:00 PM at Our Lady of Peace and Sunday at 9:30 AM at St. Cecilia's. Weekday Masses are celebrated at 8:00 AM on Tuesdays at Our Lady of Peace and on Fridays at St. Cecilia's. Starting November 18, 2025, all weekday Masses are celebrated at the main altar of each church (not the side altar). The parish livestreams the 9:30 AM Sunday Mass on YouTube and Facebook, with on-demand access thereafter (Facebook recordings are removed after two weeks).

Liturgical Ministry
The parish calls the whole community to active participation in the Mass. Lay liturgical ministers serve at the altar and in the congregation, enriching the liturgy and connecting the worshipping community with the saints in heaven through sung prayer.

Food Pantry & Outreach
St. Marianne Cope Parish runs two parish food pantries — one at each former-parish site — serving neighbors in Lakeland and Solvay. Both are funded and staffed through parish donations and volunteers and are closed whenever the Solvay Union Free School District is closed. The Sandwich Making Ministry complements this work, gathering in Nazareth Hall at Our Lady of Peace on Wednesday mornings.
