History
Saint Margaret Parish has served the Rumford neighborhood of East Providence for generations. In 1955 Monsignor Bernard J. Lennon, then pastor, founded Saint Margaret School at 42 Bishop Avenue. The school opened under the Sisters of Mercy and grew into a respected Pre-K through grade 8 Catholic school, drawing students from East Providence, Seekonk and Rehoboth.
