Parish History
St. Margaret Mary was formally designated a parish in 1955 to serve 1,500 families previously served by St. Gerard’s and St. Cecilia parishes. The chapel, now known as the St. Catherine of Alexandria Chapel, was built in 1952 and transferred to the new parish. The parish school opened in 1956 with 746 students. The current church building was constructed in 1964 and dedicated in 1965. Over the decades, the parish has grown to include numerous ministries, including CCD, Scouts, the Legion of Mary, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and continues to expand its outreach and facilities.

Through strengthened ministries, active youth engagement, well-maintained parish facilities, and dedicated community outreach, we strive to nurture spiritual growth, deepen connections, and live out the Gospel in our San Antonio community.

The parish offers a wide range of ministries including Youth Ministry, Pastoral Council, Finance Council, Virtus - Safe Environment, Funerals, Hospitality Ministry, Choir, Legion of Mary, Holy Name Society, Double Ring Club, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and CCD.
Faith Formation
The parish offers CCD (Catholic Church Education) and other faith formation programs for children and adults, as well as sacramental preparation for Baptism, Confirmation, and First Communion.
Sacraments
The parish offers all seven sacraments: Anointing of the Sick, Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Holy Orders, Matrimony, and Reconciliation.
