About Us

Saint Kateri Parish is a large, welcoming Catholic community in Irondequoit, New York, formed in 2010 by the merger of five former parishes. It serves a diverse population through spirited worship, faith formation, and active ministries across its four churches: Christ the King, St. Cecilia, St. Margaret Mary, and St. Thomas the Apostle. The parish emphasizes personal relationships, service, and living the Gospel, inviting all people to join its family regardless of background or stage of faith.

Our Clergy & Staff

Father Lance Gonyo, pastor since 2014, was ordained in 1993 and has served various parishes in the Diocese of Rochester. He was born and raised in Rochester, NY, and holds degrees from Aquinas Institute, St. John Fisher College, Becket Hall, Catholic University of America, Saint Mary’s Seminary, and Saint Bernard’s Institute. He also studied at the Mexican American Cultural Center in San Antonio, Texas. Staff includes Mary Jo DiNoto (Pastoral Associate), Anna Steele (Catechetical Coordinator), Corynn Shaw (Office Manager), Christine Bondi (Confirmation Leader), Dr. Yunn-Shan Ma (Director of Music Ministry), Mark Keller (Coordinator of Liturgy), and finance team members Kasey Baker, Tim Reetz, Elizabeth Robinson, and Lisa Hendershot.

Ministries & Organizations

Saint Kateri Parish offers a wide range of ministries including Faith Formation, Youth Ministry, CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) with basketball and soccer, OCIA (Becoming Catholic), Young Adult Ministry, and sacramental programs. The parish also provides sacraments such as Baptism, Penance, Eucharist, Confirmation, Marriage, Holy Orders, Anointing of the Sick, and Funerals.
