St. Luke Parish (formally Saint Luke the Evangelist) is a Roman Catholic parish located at 1440 N. Fairfield Road in Beavercreek, Ohio, serving the eastern suburbs of Dayton. It operates the parish school founded in 1964 (St. Luke Catholic School, preschool through 8th grade) and is the lead parish of the St. Michael the Archangel Family of Parishes within the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Parish History
St. Luke Parish was organized in 1955 under Archbishop Karl J. Alter of Cincinnati after the Knollwood Catholic Association identified the need for a parish to serve eastern Dayton–Beavercreek. Monsignor Martin T. Gilligan was appointed June 3, 1955; the parish land on North Fairfield Road was purchased in 1954 and the first church was dedicated December 15, 1957. The parish expanded through a school (1964), a school building (1966), the conversion of the old convent into the Jansen Center (1986), and an entirely new, larger church consecrated in 2003.

St. Luke Catholic School
St. Luke Catholic School serves preschool through 8th grade on the parish campus and was founded in 1964 under Fr. Paul V. Golembiewski. The first staff included Franciscan sisters from St. Anthony Parish in Dayton and Marianist priests and brothers from Mount Saint Johns. The current school building was dedicated June 1, 1966 and the school has since been recognized for academic and extra-curricular excellence.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
The Parish School of Religion (PSR) meets Wednesday evenings 6:00–7:15 PM on the parish/school campus for grades 1–8. The curriculum uses the Sunday Gospel and the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (Creed, Sacraments, Morality, Prayer), with community, service, and worship woven throughout the year. Sacramental preparation for First Communion (typically in 2nd grade) and Confirmation (a two-year process in 7th–8th grade) follows Archdiocese of Cincinnati guidelines.

Liturgy & Music
St. Luke celebrates a full weekly schedule of English Masses plus a Saturday morning Latin Novus Ordo Mass, with Sunday Masses at 9:00 and 11:00 AM and a Saturday Vigil at 5:30 PM. The parish livestreams its 8:30 AM weekday Mass and the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass on its Facebook page. Liturgical music is led under Dr. David Sievers, Pastoral Associate of Music and Liturgy, and the parish trains cantors, supports adult choir and guitar group Masses, and relies on a roster of lay lectors, eucharistic ministers, ushers, altar servers, and an Altar Guild.

Pastoral care and outreach at St. Luke is largely lay-driven, with two deacons (Bill LeCain and Gerry Dupree) staffing bereavement and nursing-home ministry. Volunteers bring the Eucharist to parishioners at Crestview, Heartland, Trinity, Traditions, and Liberty nursing homes, and a Bereavement Committee assists grieving families with funeral liturgy planning, prayers at visitations, and funeral Masses.
