Why belong here

History of St. Lucy

St. Lucy was founded in 1935 to minister to the Catholics of Hodge and the surrounding rural communities. In February 2025, Bishop Francis Malone announced a sweeping diocesan reorganization that placed St. Lucy into 'Family One' of the Eastern Deanery, joining it with St. Thomas Aquinas in Ruston, St. Benedict in Grambling, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Farmerville. Under this new model, St. Lucy became a mission of St. Thomas Aquinas, with priests serving multiple parishes and resources shared across the group.
