Our History
St. Louise de Marillac Parish was established in 1963 by founding pastor Fr. Benedict Rembelski, with the first Mass celebrated at Green Acres School on June 30, 1963. Cardinal John F. Dearden dedicated a temporary church that December. By the time ground was broken on the current church in 1968, the parish had grown to roughly 1,500 families. The permanent church was finished in 1970 and dedicated by Cardinal Dearden on April 16, 1970, and the original temporary church was repurposed as the parish's social hall.

Clergy & Parish Staff
Under the Families of Parishes model, St. Louise is served by a team of priests in solidum together with a Moderator. Rev. Andrew Czarnecki is listed as Priest in Solidum and primarily responsible for the parish, with Rev. Derik Peterman providing full-time priest support. Rev. Robert Bauer, Rev. Stanislaw Obloj, and Rev. Bogdan Milosz also serve as Priests in Solidum in the family grouping. Deacons Thomas Avery and Brian Carroll assist with parish ministry. Parish Ministries & Outreach
St. Louise de Marillac supports a wide range of lay-led ministries serving the parish and the wider Warren/Macomb community. Liturgical roles include Altar Servers and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, who must be registered parishioners, baptized and confirmed, and complete the Archdiocese of Detroit's safe environment training before serving. Outreach and community life are anchored by the Ushers Club, Christian Women, the Youth Group, a Knights of Columbus council, and a Society of St. Vincent de Paul conference. The parish is also a participating parish in MCREST's rotating shelter program for those experiencing homelessness.

St. Louise de Marillac School
St. Louise de Marillac School is the parish's largest ministry. In partnership with parents, the school's mission is to cultivate lasting values in the Catholic faith, grow as lifelong learners and followers of Christ, and challenge every student to reach their highest academic potential. The school shares in the Church's mission to proclaim the Gospel and become good stewards of Jesus Christ, evangelizing and engaging in Catholic traditions across its curriculum, and developing the spiritual, academic, and personal strengths of the whole child. Students graduate prepared for the rigor of a college preparatory high school.

Sacraments
The parish prepares and celebrates the seven Catholic sacraments as the center of parish life. Reconciliation is offered weekly on Saturday mornings; the Eucharist is celebrated at daily, Vigil, and Sunday Masses; First Communion and Confirmation are prepared for through parish and family catechesis; Baptism is celebrated for infants and young children of registered parishioners; Marriage is prepared through the parish office; and the Anointing of the Sick is available to those in need.
