About the Parish
Currently, St. Lawrence Catholic Church serves St. Elizabeth and the surrounding area. Through the labor of many, along with inspiring leadership, we have grown into a beautiful Catholic parish, ever increasing in our love of Almighty God. We gratefully welcome visitors and new families to our parish.
Ministries
Where Can I Serve? Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is out mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from preparing the altar to being a member of the fix-it-crew.
Religious Education
CCD Classes This program is made up of classes for children in 1st through 12th grades. Classes are held once a week on Wednesday Evenings 7p.m. to 8p.m., with Mass at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from August-March. During the 2nd grade year, children will be preparing for First Reconciliation in the Fall and First Communion in the Spring. The Director of Religious Education is Andrea Holtmeyer. The teachers in the program are volunteers from our parish. We have 13 teachers and several aides helping our children learn more about their faith every week. The program also requires parents to make sure that their children attend Mass on a weekly basis and enrich what they learn by asking questions after each class. During the 2nd grade year, parents must take an active role in their children’s preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion. This program is a means for your children to continue their faith building. At their baptism, you, as parents, made a commitment to raise your child in the Catholic faith. This program is one of the ways for you to carry out your commitment.
