St. Lawrence Parish is a historic Catholic faith community in Philpot, Kentucky, serving Daviess County as the first Catholic church built in the county. Founded as a missionary outpost in 1821, the parish shares pastoral leadership and a website with St. William Parish in nearby Knottsville. Today it remains a small, active parish of approximately 120 families, rooted in prayer, sacramental life, and rural Kentucky Catholic heritage.

History
St. Lawrence traces its origins to 1821 when Fr. Elisha J. Durbin established Lawrence Mission Church near Knottsville. A log church followed in 1831, a brick church in 1840, and the current church in 1870. The parish school operated from 1844 until a 1960 fire, and the cemetery has served local Catholics since 1823.

St. Lawrence celebrates Sunday Mass at 8:00 AM and a Thursday evening Mass at 6:00 PM. Confession is available before the Thursday Mass.
