History
Mass was first celebrated in Jessie in 1888. Forty-three families built the first wood-frame church in 1890 at a cost of $3000. The original church was later moved to the site of the present church. In 1948, the parish built a parish hall. The original church was destroyed by fire in 1950, and the present brick church was built in 1951. The parish celebrated its centennial in 1988. A new parish hall was added in 1994. In 2005, a tornado damaged the area, but the church structure was saved.
