St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Dearborn, Michigan, welcomes all people regardless of background, race, or self-image. Formed in 2013 by the merger of St. Martha and St. Joseph parishes, it now serves as part of the Rouge Family of Parishes under the Archdiocese of Detroit. The parish offers a variety of ministries, faith formation programs, and regular liturgical services including Mass, Adoration, and Confessions, with a focus on community, service, and spiritual growth.

Parish History

St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church became a parish in July 2013, formed from the merger of St. Martha and St. Joseph Churches. The Archdiocese of Detroit initiated the merger after clustering the two parishes. St. Martha’s campus was closed, while St. Joseph’s campus became the main site for the new parish. The parish aims to honor the legacy of both founding parishes while building a new chapter of faith and love for the community.

Ministries

The parish supports a variety of ministries including the Red Cloud Indian School, St. Maria Goretti Food Pantry, On the Rise Bakery (sponsored by the Capuchin Soup Kitchen), Eucharistic Ministers, Prayer Requests, Stations of the Cross, Family Faith Formation, and OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults).

Faith Formation

The parish offers OCIA for adult initiation, Family Faith Formation for parents, and Student-Led Stations of the Cross. Faith formation is supported by directors including Larry Winey, Dcn. Regis Buckley, Therese Terns, and Dcn. Thomas Leonard.

Liturgical Schedule

Masses are held Tuesday at 6:40 PM, Wednesday–Friday at 9:00 AM, Saturday at 4:00 PM, and Sunday at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Confessions are available Saturday at 3:00 PM. Adoration is held Tuesday from 4:00–6:30 PM, followed by Perpetual Help Devotions at 6:30 PM. Outdoor Rosary is held Monday evenings May–October at 6:00 PM.
