Our Story
Catholic life on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation has long been connected to St. Patrick Parish in Madras. The Diocese of Baker has described St. Patrick as 'the only tri-lingual parish in the diocese with the mission of now St. Kateri Tekakwitha church on the Warms Springs Indian Reservation.' The mission was formally incorporated in Oregon on October 8, 2002 as Saint Kateri Tekawitha Catholic Church of Warm Springs, Inc., under the canonical authority of the Roman Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Baker.

Patron: St. Kateri Tekakwitha
The mission is named for St. Kateri Tekakwitha, the 'Lily of the Mohawks' (1656–1680), the first Native American to be canonized as a saint in the Catholic Church. Choosing her as patron reflects the mission's vocation to serve the Native American community of the Warm Springs Reservation. Her liturgical feast is celebrated on July 14.
