Saint Julie Billiart — Patron of the Parish
The parish's patron, Saint Julie Billiart (1751–1816), was a French religious sister renowned for her deep mystical life and her work in the Christian education of poor girls. Despite illness and physical suffering for much of her adult life, she co-founded the Institute of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1804, an order that has sent missionaries and teachers across the world. She is honored as a patron of teachers, the sick, and those who minister to those in need. Her feast day is celebrated on April 8.
