History of St. Jude Parish
St. Jude Catholic Church in Clinton, Kentucky, was built in the early 1980s through the determined missionary work of Father Carl J. Glahn, then pastor of the neighboring parishes of Sacred Heart in Hickman and St. Edward in Fulton. Seeing the need for a Catholic presence in Clinton, the Hickman County seat, Father Glahn drove the fundraising and construction with help from Catholics and non-Catholics alike. The first Mass was celebrated on Christmas Eve 1982, and Bishop John J. McRaith formally dedicated the new church in May 1983. Since that time St. Jude has been served continuously as part of the Tri-Parishes of Far Western Kentucky, sharing its pastor with Sacred Heart (Hickman) and St. Edward (Fulton).
- First Mass: Christmas Eve, 1982

The Tri-Parish Cluster of Far Western Kentucky
Because each rural parish on its own is too small to support a resident priest full time, St. Jude is paired with Sacred Heart Parish in Hickman and St. Edward Parish in Fulton as the 'Tri-Parishes of Far Western Kentucky.' They share a single priest and a single parish office, which is physically located at St. Edward, 504 Eddings St., Fulton, KY 42041. The model allows all three communities to keep their own parish identity, worship, and weekly Mass while sharing clergy and resources.

- Sacred Heart, Hickman
- St. Edward, Fulton — 504 Eddings St., Fulton, KY 42041 (shared parish office)
Ministries and Faith Formation
Even as a small parish, St. Jude offers RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) and other formation in cooperation with its tri-parish partners. Dcn. Hal Jones specifically has served on the RCIA team for the tri-parish group for ten years prior to his ordination. Lay men and women lead music ministry, serve as sacristans, and staff the parish council.
