History
Catholic services in Warsaw began around 1857 when Rev. Andrew Michel of Covington's Cathedral parish visited the area. By 1858 Warsaw was a monthly Mass station served from Carrollton, and later from St. Patrick Parish in Verona. In 1868 local Catholics built and dedicated a church in honor of St. Joseph. In 1903 Rev. Edward T. Donnelly was appointed the first resident pastor, and the parish celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 1953. The church was remodeled and enlarged under Rev. Hubert Schmitz and repaired after a fire; further improvements came under Rev. George Stier (1940–1947), and Rev. Albert E. McCracken assumed pastoral charge in January 1948.
