St. Joseph the Worker Mission is one of three churches within the Our Lady of the Sierra Parish in Oakhurst, California, serving the North Fork community. It is a mission church under the pastoral care of Fr. Victor Hernando, assigned in 2020. The parish, rooted in Catholic tradition since 1939, welcomes all to live out Christ’s message in love and service. Masses are celebrated in English and Spanish, with adoration and confessions offered regularly.

Our History
Our Lady of the Sierra Parish, including St. Joseph the Worker Mission, traces its roots to 1939 with the founding of St. Dominic Savio in Bass Lake. In 1960, it became a mission church under St. Joseph the Worker in North Fork. The parish seat moved to Oakhurst in 1994, with Our Lady of the Sierra Church completed in 1999. Since 1961, the parish has been served by nine priests and seven bishops under the Diocese of Fresno.
Ministries
The parish offers a wide range of ministries including RCIA/OCIA, Formation, Families, and Giving. There are also opportunities for youth, adults, and families to participate in community service and spiritual growth.

Sacraments
The parish offers all seven sacraments: Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, Marriage, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, and Holy Orders. Sacramental preparation is available for all ages.

Mass & Services
Masses are celebrated in English and Spanish on Sundays and Saturdays. Daily Mass and devotions are held at Our Lady of the Sierra Church in Oakhurst. Confessions are available Saturdays at 3:00 PM. Eucharistic Adoration is held every Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
