St. Joseph Parish in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, is a faith community in the Diocese of Superior and part of the St. Francis de Sales Parish Cluster serving Spooner, Shell Lake, and Sarona. Founded in the 1880s, the parish has served Catholics in Washburn County from its church at 502 N. 2nd Street. The community gathers for weekend and weekday liturgies and is supported by a shared parish office in Spooner. Visitors are welcomed to join in prayer, sacraments, and small-town Catholic life in the Northwoods.

History
In 1884, a frame church was erected on Bible Hill in the northwest part of Shell Lake. A new church was built in 1895. Around 1900, St. Joseph was made a mission of Cumberland. After Fr. Dean Buttrick's arrival as pastor in July 1976, the parish began plans for a new church building.
