History
St. Joseph Parish was established in 1892 in Nortonville, Kansas, and has been a spiritual home for Jefferson County Catholics for more than 130 years. The rectory was constructed in 1963 during the pastorate of Father Thomas Clune, and Father Edward Roberts is remembered for the longest pastoral tenure. From 2013 to 2023 Father Lazar Carasala led St. Joseph as part of a rural tri-parish cluster before returning to India; he was succeeded by Father William Dun-Dery.
Worship & Sacraments
The parish gathers for weekend and weekday Mass in English and offers regular confession. The sacramental life of the parish includes Baptism, Eucharist, First Communion, Reconciliation, and Marriage.
