About St. Joseph Mission · Stratford, California

St. Joseph Mission is a small Spanish-language Roman Catholic mission church serving the rural farming community of Stratford, California. It operates as a mission church of St. Peter Prince of Apostles Parish in neighboring Lemoore, within the Diocese of Fresno. The mission gathers its community for one weekly celebration of the Eucharist — a Sunday noon Mass in Spanish — at its location on Empire Street. Because it is a mission of a larger parish, St. Joseph Mission shares its pastor, deacon, faith-formation staff, and ministries with St. Peter's in Lemoore, while maintaining a distinct worship site for Stratford-area Catholics, many of whom are Spanish-speaking farmworkers and their families.

Why belong here

St. Joseph Mission offers Stratford's Catholic community a dedicated place of worship close to home, with a warm Sunday noon Mass celebrated entirely in Spanish — a meaningful gathering for the area's many Hispanic families. As part of the larger St. Peter Prince of Apostles Parish in Lemoore, the mission connects parishioners to a wider faith community of roughly 1,700 registered families, with full access to faith formation (CCD/Religious Education), the sacraments, perpetual adoration in the Holy Family Chapel, the Knights of Columbus, the Legion of Mary, the Prayer Quilt Ministry, Our Lady of Perpetual Help devotion, and many Spanish and bilingual ministries. For Spanish-speaking Catholics in Stratford, St. Joseph Mission is a welcoming, accessible spiritual home supported by an active neighboring parish.
