History
The first Catholic Church in West Liberty was built in the 1800s under Fr. William Emonds. A second church, dedicated in 1891, burned in 1946. The present St. Joseph Church was dedicated in 1950 under Fr. B.L. Barnes. In 2006, the parish dedicated its new Parish Life Center. The parish has grown significantly, especially due to immigration, both historically and in recent decades.
