History
St. Joseph Parish was established in 1915 in the Ensley neighborhood of Birmingham. It became a spiritual and social center for Italian immigrants who settled in the area. A 1985 Birmingham Historical Society survey notes that the original church building was sold in 1968; the parish continues its ministry today at 3020 Avenue K under the pastoral care of the Passionist Fathers.
