History of St. John Vianney Parish
St. John Vianney was founded in 2005 as a new parish in the rapidly growing city of Fishers, Indiana, under the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana. What began as Sunday Masses in private homes quickly grew into a parish with its own buildings, master plan, and active parish life. The first Sunday Masses were celebrated in the homes of the Durle and Atherton families in September 2005. The first Mass in a temporary worship space — a converted office building at 14500 E. 136th St. — was the Christmas Eve Vigil on December 24, 2005, and Fr. Brian Dudzinski was formally installed as the first pastor on January 8, 2006. In 2007, a building committee, parish town hall meetings, the diocese, and architectural teams produced a master plan for the future campus. That plan was publicly unveiled at a spring gala on April 19, 2008. The first Mass in the current building on Blessed Mother Boulevard was celebrated November 21, 2009, and the parish rectory was added in November 2012. The 53-acre campus continues to develop toward the full master plan.

Devotions & Patronal Feast
Devotion to the parish's patron, St. John Vianney (the Cure of Ars), is a defining feature of parish life. Each year the parish prays a novena leading up to the August 4 feast day, with pamphlets placed by the St. John Vianney statue at the entrance to the nave. The faithful are encouraged to include priests of the diocese in their novena intentions, particularly during priest assignment transitions.

St. John Vianney is set on a 53-acre lot just north of 126th Street off Southeastern Parkway in Fishers. Visitors are welcomed with a circular one-way drive and a drop-off area at the main entrance; all other doors are locked and serve as exits only. The campus includes a playground and a covered pavilion where families are invited to let children play after Mass. Coffee and Donuts are served in St. Joseph Hall following Sunday Masses, and the priests are typically available in the Narthex area to greet visitors and newcomers.
