History of St. John the Evangelist, Clyde

The Catholic congregation in Clyde was organized in 1855, with a frame church built to the west of the present building in 1851. The current St. John the Evangelist Church was erected in 1869 and has served local Catholic families ever since. In the 1990s the church underwent a comprehensive renovation to preserve its historic architecture, and it remains a beloved gathering place for worship, fellowship, and outreach in Clyde.
