Faith Formation and Religious Education

St. John the Apostle Catholic School (SJS)
St. John the Apostle Catholic School opened in 1965, a year after the parish was founded, under founding principal Anne Smith. The school serves Pre-Kindergarten (age 4) through 8th grade on the same campus as the parish, with school hours 7:50 AM to 3:30 PM, and Before and After School Care available from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM through St. John Child Care. SJS has been accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference in 1987, 1997, 2007, 2015, and 2022, and was named a U.S. Department of Education National Blue Ribbon School in October 2008 and again in September 2022, also earning Exemplary High Performing School recognition in 2022. In 2015, the Texas House of Representatives adopted H.R. No. 2761 to commemorate the school's 50th anniversary.
