St. John Neumann Parish was a Catholic faith community serving the South Side and East Mountain neighborhoods of Scranton, Pennsylvania, within the Diocese of Scranton. Dedicated to St. John Neumann, the first American male saint, the parish offered Mass, sacraments, and neighborhood outreach for generations. In November 2023, St. John Neumann and St. Paul of the Cross parishes consolidated to form St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, and worship continues today at Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary Church.

Parish History
St. John Neumann Parish served Scranton’s South Side and East Mountain before merging with St. Paul of the Cross to form St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish in November 2023.
