St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic parish in North Las Vegas, Nevada, belonging to the Diocese of Las Vegas. Founded in 1998, it was the first new parish established by the diocese after its creation in 1995. The parish is known for its strong liturgical music, faithful celebration of the Eucharist, and the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd faith formation program (the first parish in the diocese to offer it). After more than 25 years of growth and ministry from a temporary Parish Center, the parish celebrated the official dedication of its new church and altar on February 6, 2026. Today the community is led by Fr. Marc Howes (its third pastor) and Fr. Jonathan Loverita (parochial vicar), with a sizable staff and many ministries serving families, youth, adults, and the wider North Las Vegas community.

Parish Story & History
St. John Neumann was commissioned in July 1998 by Bishop Daniel F. Walsh as a new parish for the growing Catholic population in the area north of Cheyenne Avenue in North Las Vegas. Fr. Bede Wevita was appointed founding administrator (and later first pastor), the first Mass was celebrated in the rectory on December 8, 1998, and the parish was canonically established on March 1, 1999 — the first new parish of the Diocese of Las Vegas. After years of worship in a Parish Center dedicated by Bishop Joseph A. Pepe on December 8, 2003, the parish broke ground in January 2023, built its permanent church, and celebrated the official dedication of the new church and altar on February 6, 2026.

Daily Prayer
The church opens at 7:00 AM on weekdays and the parish prays the Daily Rosary and Morning Prayer twice before the 8:00 AM Mass.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
St. John Neumann's Faith Formation office (open Monday–Thursday and Friday mornings) coordinates programs for children, teens, and adults, with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd as the cornerstone for ages 3–12. Older children and teens continue with grade-school faith formation, Confirmation prep (two-year program), and First Communion prep (two-year program starting in 1st grade).

Becoming Catholic (OCIA) & Adult Faith
Adults seeking full initiation into the Catholic Church — whether unbaptized, baptized in another Christian tradition, or baptized Catholic but lacking First Communion and Confirmation — are welcomed through the Becoming Catholic (OCIA, formerly RCIA) process. The parish also offers a separate Adult Confirmation track for Catholics 21 and older who already have Baptism and First Communion.

Sacraments
The parish celebrates all seven sacraments. Families begin Baptism preparation through the Director of Pastoral Ministries, while First Communion, Confirmation, and adult sacraments are coordinated through the Faith Formation Office.

Youth & Young Adult Ministries
Directed by Jessica Parrish with assistant Tina Neyman, the parish offers formation and fellowship for teens and young adults through the high-school Confirmation process (Year One and UpperClass), social activities, and small-group discussion and prayer.

Liturgy & Pastoral Music
Quality liturgical music and faithful celebration of the Eucharist have always been the hallmark of this community, in the words of the parish's own history page. Registration forms are available in English and Spanish and can be printed, filled out, and brought to the parish office, or completed in person during office hours.
