History
St. John’s Church is part of a Tri-Parish community formed from the merger of St. Joseph’s and St. Patrick’s parishes in January 1985. The Christian Mothers and Ladies Guild organizations have been active since the 1980s, organizing events like the Parish Family Picnic (first held July 27, 1980) and the Polka Mass (introduced in 1982). The Polka Mass, featuring music by bands like the Cathy Erickson Band, became a popular fall tradition until 2023. The Tri-Parish structure continues to serve the communities of Nebish, Blackduck, and Kelliher.
