Parish History & Heritage
St. John Francis Regis Parish traces its roots to 1690, when the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) established the original mission and built the first church in what is now Hollywood, St. Mary's County, Maryland. A second church was dedicated in 1780, and the present (third) church was dedicated in 1898, with stained glass windows added in 1905. The parish remained under Jesuit direction for nearly three centuries before coming under the Archdiocese of Washington in 1962. The community marked its 300th anniversary in 1990, and the parish's mission statement — built on yesterday's foundation — reflects this long heritage.

Mass & Liturgical Schedule
The parish offers a robust daily Mass schedule, with a Saturday Vigil and three Sunday Masses. Daily Mass is celebrated Monday through Friday at 7:00 AM, with a Saturday morning Mass at 8:00 AM in addition to the Vigil. Holy Days of Obligation are observed with Masses at 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, and 7:00 PM.
