History
Saint John Bosco Parish in Delta was established in 1939 during the 23-year episcopate of Bishop Duane G. Hunt, who led the Diocese of Salt Lake City from 1937 and founded fourteen parishes during his tenure. The mission was created to serve Catholic families in Delta, a small agricultural community in Millard County. From its early days it was served by priests based at Saint Bridget in Milford, forming the south-central Utah mission cluster that continues today. In 1995, newly-transferred pastor Fr. Eugenio Yarce (from Price) introduced a bilingual schedule — a Spanish-speaking Mass on Saturday night and an English-speaking Mass on Sunday — establishing the bilingual pattern that has continued. A succession of pastors including Fr. Gustavo A. Vidal (named 2019), Fr. Jorge Roldan-Sanchez, Fr. Hernando Diaz, and currently Fr. Marco T. Lopez have continued the cluster ministry.

Bilingual English/Spanish Ministry
St. John Bosco has been a bilingual mission since at least 1995, when pastor Fr. Eugenio Yarce began offering both Spanish and English Masses for the Delta community. The mission continues this tradition with a Spanish Sunday Mass at 8:00 am and an English Sunday Mass at 10:00 am, making it a spiritual home for both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking Catholic families in Millard County.
