History
St. John Berchmans Church has a long history dating back to 1925, with a lineage of pastors including Fr. Hugh Dandurand (1925–1960), Fr. Paul Thibodeaux (1960–1966), Fr. Gerard Smit (1966–1975), Fr. Alfred Gaudet (1975–1982), Msgr. Charles Mallet (1982–1996), Fr. Jude Halphen (1996–1999), Fr. Mario Romero (1999–2004), Fr. Henry Broussard (2004–2012), and Msgr. Russell Harrington (2012–2018). The current pastor, Rev. Kenneth Domingue, was appointed in July 2024.
