History
The mission was established in 1931 to bring the Catholic faith to the small rural community of Morrisville. From its earliest days it was not an independent parish but a mission of St. Mary Church in Hamilton, and it has remained so ever since. In the modern era it has been grouped with the other Catholic parishes along U.S. Route 20 — St. Mary's (Hamilton), St. Bernard (Waterville) and St. Joseph (Oriskany Falls) — under a single pastor with a shared bulletin and website.

Pastor and Clergy
St. Joan of Arc is pastored together with the other three Route20 churches by a single pastor. The current pastor is Rev. Jason Hage. Before him, Rev. Richard B. Dunn served as pastor of St. Mary and St. Joan of Arc until he was reassigned in July 2017 by Bishop Robert J. Cunningham of Syracuse to St. Mary of the Lake in Skaneateles.

Ministries & Parish Life
The four Route20 parishes share ministries and parish life. A Knights of Columbus Council was formed for the entire grouping on March 19, 2022 (the Solemnity of St. Joseph) at St. Joseph's in Oriskany Falls. The parishes also share faith formation and religious education, an online giving platform, a combined weekly bulletin, and a livestreamed Sunday Mass.

Sacraments
Through the parish office and Route20 Catholic Parishes, the faithful can arrange for the Sacraments of Baptism, Marriage, Anointing of the Sick, and First Eucharist and Confirmation preparation. Reconciliation is offered at the monthly Holy Hour at St. Joan's and by appointment.
