History
St. Joachim was canonically established as a parish in 1951 and built its current church in 1958 through parishioner donations and volunteer labor. In 1990, the interior was redesigned and split into Sunday/weekday worship spaces, removing the original sanctuary; in 2015–2016 the parish launched an interior remodeling, with the blessing of Bishop Michael Barber, to restore a sense of sacredness. St. Joachim School, founded in 1958 by the Benedictine Sisters of Mt. Angel, Oregon, has grown steadily over the decades.

St. Joachim School
Founded in 1958 by the Benedictine Sisters of Mt. Angel, Oregon, St. Joachim School is a pre-kindergarten through 8th-grade Catholic school serving families from Hayward and San Lorenzo. The school has expanded with a gym (1975), kindergarten program (1989), a new science lab and kindergarten classroom (1999), and a preschool (2004). Approximately 374 students are enrolled, and the school is listed on the National Center for Education Statistics registry.

Music Ministry
