St. Jerome Parish is a Roman Catholic parish in North Weymouth, Massachusetts, part of the Archdiocese of Boston and a collaborative partner with nearby Immaculate Conception Parish in East Weymouth since 2013. The parish traces its origins to an 1880 mission chapel built to serve Catholic families who summered in North Weymouth, and it became an independent parish in 1928. Today it is led by Rev. Huy H. Nguyen as Pastor and is served by priests in residence, deacons, a music director, faith formation staff, and a youth ministry team. The current tan-brick church, built in the mid-1960s, seats 500 and is joined by a lower hall that seats 700 for parish gatherings.

Sunday Mass is celebrated twice in English (7:30 AM and 10:30 AM), with daily Mass on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, plus weekly Adoration in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. As one of two parishes in the Catholic Weymouth collaborative, St. Jerome combines a small-parish welcome with the resources and ministries of a larger community.

About St. Jerome Parish
St. Jerome Parish is a Roman Catholic community in North Weymouth, Massachusetts, grounded in faith and nourished by Word and Sacrament. It is one half of the Catholic Weymouth collaborative with Immaculate Conception Parish in East Weymouth. The parish is committed to religious education and faith formation for everyone, to prayer, and to acts of mercy in service of one another.
History of St. Jerome
St. Jerome was founded in 1880 as a mission chapel of Immaculate Conception Church, built to serve the Catholics who summered in North Weymouth cottages. It was set apart as a separate parish in 1928, with Rev. Charles A. O'Brien as its first pastor. The community weathered a 1914 fire that destroyed its first chapel, dedicated a second church in 1915, and under later pastors built a parochial school staffed by the Sisters of Notre Dame and the present tan-brick church in the mid-1960s. In 2013 the parish joined Immaculate Conception in the Catholic Weymouth collaborative.

Faith Formation and Youth Ministry
The parish offers a full Faith Formation program for children, supported by a dedicated Youth Ministry led by Luke Luciani. Adult Formation and Spiritual Direction are coordinated by Mary Ellen Cassani, giving parishioners of every age a place to grow in the faith. Vacation Bible School and a Family Life Playgroup round out family-oriented programming.

Music and Liturgy
St. Jerome is a singing parish. As the website quotes St. Augustine, 'to sing is to pray twice.' The collaborative choir alternates between the two parishes, singing the 4:00 PM Mass at Immaculate Conception and the 10:30 AM Mass at St. Jerome under choirmaster Patrizio Trivellini. A contemporary band leads music at the 9:00 AM Family Mass each Sunday, using voice, piano, electric guitar and bass, and drums. Music Director Monika Brodsky coordinates the program across the collaborative.

Outreach and Parish Life
Catholic Weymouth runs ongoing charitable outreach in and beyond its walls. Parishioners support a Food Pantry, the pro-life Friends of the Unborn, and seasonal drives such as the Youth Ministry Clothing Drive and Food Drive. The two parishes are also pilot sites for the Archdiocese of Boston's Donum mobile giving app, designed to make online stewardship easier.

Sacraments at St. Jerome
Baptisms at St. Jerome are celebrated on the third Sunday of each month at 12:00 PM, alternating between Immaculate Conception and St. Jerome. Parents are required to attend a Baptismal Catechesis, held on the first Saturday of each month at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception. Godparents must be Confirmed, practicing Catholics. Faith Formation prepares older children for Confirmation, and couples preparing for marriage are asked to contact the parish office.

Collaborative Leadership
The Catholic Weymouth collaborative is governed by a Parish Council and Finance Council whose members serve both parishes.
