Parish History
St. James has roots in the late 19th century. Preserved parish records begin in 1878, with births, baptisms (1878–1907), a combined register (1907–1985), and marriages (1878–1929). These records are now part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield Sacramental Records collection. The parish continues today as a stable, family-oriented community in Sangamon County.
