Our Patron Saint

St. Isaac Jogues (1607–1646) was a French Jesuit priest and missionary to the indigenous peoples of North America. Captured and tortured by the Mohawk, he escaped to France before returning as an ambassador to negotiate peace. He was killed near present-day Auriesville, New York, and is venerated as one of the North American Martyrs. His feast day is October 19.
