St. Ignatius Kim Korean Catholic Community is a Korean-language Catholic mission in Orlando, Florida, part of the Diocese of Orlando (Eastern Deanery). It is named after St. Ignatius Kim Che-jun, one of the 103 Korean Martyrs canonized by Pope John Paul II in 1984, and serves the Korean Catholic faithful of Central Florida with Korean-language Masses and pastoral care. The mission gathers at 1518 E. Muriel Street in east Orlando and, like many Korean-mission parishes in the U.S., receives a priest sent from Korea roughly every five years.

History of the Mission
Korean Catholics in the Orlando area first gathered for Mass at neighboring St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park. According to St. Margaret Mary's published parish history, that arrangement continued until the Korean community built its own mission church, St. Ignatius Kim, in 1992. From the beginning, the mission has been served by priests sent from Korea, a practice the diocese still follows today.

Patron: St. Ignatius Kim and the Korean Martyrs
The mission takes its name from St. Ignatius Kim Che-jun, one of the 103 Korean Martyrs canonized by Pope John Paul II on May 6, 1984, during the latter's visit to Seoul. The Korean martyrs — including Paul Chong Ha-sang and his companions — gave their lives for the faith during periods of persecution in 18th- and 19th-century Korea. Their memorial is celebrated on September 20 in the universal liturgical calendar.

Clergy and Pastoral Succession
The mission is currently served by Father Petrus Kim, Myung Sub (Rev. Myung Sub Kim), who was appointed pastor effective November 9, 2025, by Bishop John Noonan. He was welcomed during Mass on that date as the community bade farewell to his predecessor, Father Aventinus Han, Deog Su (Rev. Deog Su Han), an extern priest from Korea ordained January 22, 1991. Parishioners publicly thanked Father Han for his emphasis on preserving the mother language and for promoting Sunday School for children and youth. The diocese notes that the Korean community welcomes a new priest from Korea roughly every five years.

Ministries and Faith Formation
The mission's central apostolate is preserving Korean language and Catholic faith together for the next generation. The Korean Sunday School — strongly promoted by Father Han and continued under Father Kim — gives children and youth of the parish Korean-language faith formation. Adult sacramental preparation (RCIA/OCIA, 'Becoming Catholic') is also listed among the parish's programs.
