About St. Hubert Catholic Community
St. Hubert is a parish of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis serving the Catholic community of Chanhassen and the Southwest Metro. Its mission is 'to form missionary disciples who know, love, and imitate Jesus Christ.' The parish has roots going back to 1865 and is home to an historic 1887 church, a thriving preschool-through-middle-school Catholic school, a perpetual adoration chapel, and formation programs for every age.
History
The parish was formally organized in 1865 by the Rev. Magnus Mayr to serve the German Catholic farming settlement that would become Chanhassen. The first church was an 18-by-24-foot log cabin that doubled as the school, built on land donated by Henry Pauly Sr. In 1880 the property was transferred from the Bishop to the Franciscan Brotherhood, who in 1887 platted the area north of the church and named it 'St. Hubertus.' That same year the third (and surviving) brick church was built on the original site — it is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Village of Chanhassen was incorporated in 1896, but the parish remained the focal point of community life for decades. The present church, school, and offices were built in 1997, with a 2002 addition.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
The Faith Formation office provides programs for preschool through adult, designed to supplement prayer life and faith learning at home. The program year runs October through May. Sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation is woven into these programs, and scholarships are available for families needing assistance.
