Why belong here
St. Hubert is a small, welcoming lakeside Catholic community where the Rosary is prayed before the Sunday 11:00 AM Mass and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is said afterward, giving worshipers a daily rhythm of devotion. The parish supports an active Council of Catholic Women, a Music Ministry/Choir, a Youth Ministry, Children's Faith Formation, RCIA, and a Ministry of Consolation grief-support group that meets at either St. James or St. Hubert, making it easy to plug in. It is also part of the OLL Regional Catholic School collaborative, so families looking for Catholic K-12 education in the Higgins Lake–Houghton Lake area have a ready-made parish partner.

Patron — Saint Hubert of Liège
The parish takes its name from Saint Hubert of Liège (c. 656–727), the first Bishop of Liège and 'Apothe of the Ardennes,' whose feast day is November 3. According to the legend that shaped medieval Europe, Hubert was a passionate young courtier and huntsman whose life was converted when, on Good Friday, he saw a crucifix between the antlers of a stag he was chasing and heard a voice calling him to turn to the Lord. He is honored as the patron saint of hunters, mathematicians, opticians, and metalworkers — a fitting patron for a parish set in the forested lakes country of northern Michigan.
- Feast day: November 3
- Patron of hunters, mathematicians, opticians, metalworkers
- Bishop of Maastricht and first Bishop of Liège
