Why belong here

St. Henry's is a bilingual, mission-minded parish that has grown steadily since 1943 because it welcomes newcomers — first Intermountain Indian School students and Thiokol workers in the 1950s, and now Latino families drawn to Brigham City. With daily Mass, a Sunday Spanish Mass, Saturday Confessions, the parish's outreach through Catholic Relief Services, and a brand-new social hall blessed in 2019, the parish offers both a daily worship rhythm and a real community life in northern Utah. It also serves the surrounding region as the mother church of Santa Ana Mission in Tremonton.

History of the Parish

Catholicism arrived in Box Elder County with the Transcontinental Railroad in 1869; Father Honore Bourine said the first local Mass in Corinne in 1870. That early community faded by 1892, and for fifty years Catholics in the county traveled to St. Joseph in Ogden. St. Henry's Mission began in 1943 with the wartime construction of Bushnell Army Hospital, became a parish in 1950, and was formally dedicated on October 19, 1958. The Intermountain Indian School (1950) and Thiokol (1957) drove growth in the 1950s. In 2019, Bishop Solis blessed a new social hall built after the 2018 groundbreaking.
