About St. Gianna Beretta Molla · Denver, Colorado
St. Gianna Beretta Molla is a Roman Catholic parish in the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood of northeast Denver, Colorado, belonging to the Archdiocese of Denver. Founded in 2018 and led by Pastor Fr. Jason Wunsch, it is one of the newest parish communities in the archdiocese and serves a remarkably multicultural flock, offering weekend Masses in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. After beginning as a parish community gathering in a charter school, a Holiday Inn, parish homes, and a converted dance studio, the parish broke ground on its first permanent church in September 2024, located at the intersection of Green Valley Ranch Blvd. and Jebel St. The parish also celebrates a weekly Sunday Mass at Denver International Airport's Jeppesen Terminal.

Why belong here
St. Gianna Beretta Molla is a young, growing, and intentionally multicultural parish where English-, Spanish-, and Vietnamese-speaking Catholics worship side by side, with a pastor who is bilingual (English/Spanish) and a parochial vicar who serves the Vietnamese community. New parishioners are warmly welcomed by Fr. Wunsch, and the parish offers all the practical touchpoints of parish life — Eucharistic Adoration several days a week, frequent Confession, a St. Vincent de Paul conference for outreach to neighbors in need, active liturgical ministries (altar servers, lectors, ushers, greeters, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, music/choir), youth group, young adults, and formation for children. It is also notably building the first Christian church in the Green Valley Ranch area, giving new members the rare chance to help shape a parish from the ground up.

History & Founding
St. Gianna Beretta Molla Parish was erected by Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila in 2018 to serve the rapidly growing Green Valley Ranch area of northeast Denver. Fr. Jason Wunsch was installed as founding pastor on September 16, 2018. The parish is one of only two parishes built from the ground up by the Archdiocese of Denver in decades — the previous being Our Lady of Loreto in Foxfield in 1998. Over its first six years, the community worshipped in a charter school cafeteria, a Holiday Inn, parishioners' homes, and finally its current space, a former dance studio. A groundbreaking for the first permanent church was celebrated September 7, 2024.
- Founded 2018 by Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila
- Founding pastor: Fr. Jason Wunsch (installed Sept. 16, 2018)

- Capital campaign raised $1.7M in pledges; Archdiocese granted $3.5M toward $13M project
- Groundbreaking: September 7, 2024 at Green Valley Ranch Blvd. & Jebel St.
Mass & Liturgy
The parish is one of the most multilingual in the Archdiocese of Denver, celebrating weekend Masses in three languages plus a weekly Mass at Denver International Airport. The two largest Sunday liturgies — 10:00 AM English and 12:00 PM Spanish — are both live streamed, allowing shut-ins and traveling parishioners to remain connected. A 6:00 PM Sunday bilingual Mass in English and Spanish serves parishioners who prefer a combined liturgy.
- Daily Mass Monday–Friday in English (with a Thursday evening Vietnamese Mass and a Wednesday evening Spanish Mass)
- Sunday 1:00 PM Mass at Denver International Airport Interfaith Chapel (Jeppesen Terminal, Level 5 East near Baggage Claim 2/3)
- Sunday 6:00 PM bilingual (English & Spanish) Mass
- Saturday 4:00 PM English Sunday-anticipatory Mass
- Live-streamed Sunday Masses at 10:00 AM (English) and 12:00 PM (Spanish)
Devotions & Holy Week
The parish observes the major liturgical seasons with trilingual or bilingual celebrations as appropriate. Holy Week 2025 featured a 7:00 PM Holy Thursday Mass followed by a Eucharistic Vigil until midnight; Ash Wednesday is marked by a 7:30 PM bilingual Mass with the Imposition of Ashes.
- Bilingual Ash Wednesday Mass at 7:30 PM

The conference serves the materially poor across the parish boundaries, which include Denver International Airport and multiple new housing developments.

Building the New Church
After six years of temporary quarters, the parish broke ground on its first permanent church on September 7, 2024 on a three-acre parcel at Green Valley Ranch Blvd. and Jebel St. The site was blessed by Archbishop Aquila at the groundbreaking ceremony and is zoned for a church. The building project is funded by a combination of parishioner pledges and a $3.5 million grant from the Archdiocese of Denver; construction began in October 2024 with hopes of completion by Christmas 2025. A 'Help Build Our Church' capital campaign and a 1st Annual St. Gianna Beretta Molla Catholic Parish Golf Tournament (presented by Trinity Wealth, scheduled for October 5, 2026 at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club) support the effort.

Patron Saint: Gianna Beretta Molla
Gianna Beretta Molla (1922–1961) was an Italian pediatrician, the tenth of thirteen children, who married Pietro Molla in 1955. While a medical student in Milan she joined the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and ministered to the elderly and the poor; she later opened her own pediatric practice near Magenta. In 1961, knowing that continuing her pregnancy could cost her her life, she insisted that her fourth child be delivered by Caesarean section; Gianna Emanuela survived and Gianna died a week later from complications. She was beatified by Pope John Paul II on April 24, 1994, and canonized on May 16, 2004; her husband and children attended the canonization. Her feast day is April 28. Her daughter Gianna Emanuela Molla has personally visited the Denver parish and given testimony there.
