St. Germaine Catholic Parish is a Roman Catholic parish in Prescott Valley, Arizona, belonging to the Diocese of Phoenix. It traces its roots to June 10, 1979, when about 60 people gathered for the first Mass at the Prescott Valley Community Center, and was raised from a mission to a full parish on October 15, 1984. Today the parish serves more than 1,200 registered families and, since October 2025, also pastorally administers St. Joseph Mission in nearby Mayer. Worship is offered in English and Spanish, with perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, a robust religious-education program, and a large network of lay ministries.

History of St. Germaine Catholic Parish
St. Germaine traces its origins to June 10, 1979, when about 60 people attended the first Mass at the Prescott Valley Community Center. Founded as a mission under Fr. Philip Reiser, it grew rapidly: the first church was built in 1980–81, the mission was raised to parish status on October 15, 1984, the Parish Hall was dedicated as 'Reiser Hall' on May 21, 1989, and in 2025 the parish took on pastoral responsibility for St. Joseph Mission in Mayer. - Nov 23, 1980 — Groundbreaking for the first Catholic Church in Prescott Valley.

- 2015 — Johnson Walzer Associates of Flagstaff hired to design a new church.
- May 12, 2016 — 125-year-old, 42-inch statue of St. Germaine arrives from Amsterdam.
- 2022 — Fr. Manoj John (Piarist Fathers) installed as pastor; Fr. Noble arrives as parochial vicar.
- 2024 — New statues of Mary, Joseph, and St. Joseph Calasanz donated.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
Religious Education at St. Germaine is community-centered and sacramentally focused. Students attend Mass and then class on Saturday mornings; OCIA and OCIC programs welcome un-baptized persons over 7 and adults over 18 into full communion with the Church at the Easter Vigil. Veritas, the parish youth group, runs a four-year curriculum for 6th–12th graders covering morality, scripture, church history, sacraments, and the liturgical calendar, complemented by service projects, retreats, worship nights, and fundraisers.

The parish supports an unusually wide range of lay ministries and prayer groups, including Bible studies every day of the week (in person and on Zoom), Spanish and English prayer gatherings, devotion groups, and major Catholic service organizations. The parish strongly reminds volunteers that Safe Environment Training with the Diocese of Phoenix is required to volunteer in any capacity.

Devotions & Prayer Life
Beyond Mass and the sacraments, St. Germaine offers a deep devotional life. The Liturgy of the Hours is prayed Monday through Friday at 7:00 AM; the Flame of Love, Llama de Amor, World Apostolate of Fatima, La Divina Misericordia, and the Patriotic Rosary all meet at regular times; and a Spanish Grupo de Oración gathers every Friday evening in the church.

Sacraments at St. Germaine
The parish prepares Catholics of every age for the full sacramental life of the Church: infant and adult baptism (English and Spanish classes), First Communion and Confirmation through the children's RE program or adult OCIA/OCIC process, marriage preparation and weddings, quinceañeras, anointing of the sick (via the after-hours emergency line), funerals, and bereavement support. Annulment inquiries are routed through the marriage office.

St. Joseph Mission, Mayer
Since October 2025, St. Germaine has assumed pastoral and administrative responsibility for St. Joseph Mission in Mayer. The mission was originally founded in 1918 with the gift of Sara Bell, widow of town founder Joseph Mayer, and was blessed by Bishop Henry Granjon on May 13, 1918. A new church was built in 1983 under Fr. Philip Reiser (the same founding pastor of St. Germaine), with an Adoration Chapel added later. Today the mission serves Catholics in Mayer, Dewey, and the Cordes Lakes area with weekly Mass, confession, and Benediction, and offers homebound visits through Fr. John and Fr. Noble.

Newcomers are warmly welcomed. The parish bulletin, published weekly, lists upcoming events, spiritual reflections, and service opportunities. Visitors can park in either of two parish lots — 7997 East Dana Drive or 7925 East Long Look Drive. Parish Office hours are Monday–Thursday 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM and Friday 9:00 AM – Noon; an after-hours emergency line (928-302-8565) is available for anointings and urgent pastoral needs. All parish volunteers must complete Safe Environment Training with the Diocese of Phoenix.
